Abu Ghali Auto: Electric Commercial Vehicles Are Cost-Effective with Near-Zero Maintenance Costs
Engineer Mustafa Abu Ghali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Ghali Auto Group, confirmed that electric commercial vehicles have become an important economic option for companies, offering significant reductions in operating and maintenance costs, while supporting the state's direction toward more sustainable transportation. He noted that these vehicles provide notable financial savings in the long term, making them an attractive investment for the commercial transport sector.
Electric Vehicles at the Al-Ahram Commercial Vehicles Exhibition 2026
Abu Ghali's statements came during a panel discussion titled 'How Transport Vehicle Agents Keep Pace with Industry Technology Evolution and Varying Customer Usage,' held as part of the Al-Ahram Commercial Vehicles Exhibition 2026. The session was moderated by journalist Hisham El-Zeini, where participants discussed the latest developments in the commercial transport sector and the importance of adopting electric solutions to keep up with global changes. Abu Ghali explained that most companies relying on electric commercial vehicles have dedicated charging stations or central locations for their fleets, which maximizes the benefits of these vehicles and increases their operational efficiency across various commercial activities. He added that charging infrastructure plays a pivotal role in the success of this system, especially with the growing reliance on electric fleets for distribution and logistics services.
Significant Savings in Maintenance and Operation Boost Economic Viability
Abu Ghali emphasized that electric vehicles achieve substantial savings for both companies and the state, thanks to lower operating costs, stressing that maintenance expenses for this type of vehicle are almost negligible compared to traditional vehicles, which enhances their economic viability in the long term. He explained that the absence of an internal combustion engine and its associated mechanical complexities reduces the need for costly routine maintenance, such as oil and filter changes, significantly lowering total ownership costs. He added that this trend aligns with Egypt's vision for transitioning to green transportation and reducing carbon emissions.
