KGM Torres Facelift Lands in Egypt with Price Hikes and 8-Speed Gearbox

KGM Torres facelift has officially arrived in Egypt, unveiled by local distributor Arabiat in a special event at its headquarters. Prices now start at 1,650,000 EGP for the Comfort trim, marking an increase of 40,000 EGP over the outgoing model. The top-spec Luxury and Black Edition trims reach 2,075,000 EGP, up 51,000 EGP.

The Comfort trim is priced at 1,650,000 EGP (+40,000). Advanced comes in at 1,790,000 EGP (+45,000). Premium sits at 1,925,000 EGP (+50,000). Luxury and Black Edition are both 2,075,000 EGP (+51,000).

New 8-Speed Transmission and More Torque

The headline mechanical change is the switch from a 6-speed automatic to an 8-speed Aisin unit. Torque rises to 300 Nm from 280 Nm. The engine remains a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 163 hp.

Design updates include a revised front grille, reworked front and rear bumpers, and new headlamp graphics. A new Plasma Shadow color joins the palette. Inside, the steering wheel, center console. Gear selector have been redesigned, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus dual wireless phone chargers are standard on Luxury and Black Edition trims.

These price increases reflect tangible mechanical and design upgrades, most notably the new gearbox. Yet the question remains whether they justify the premium in a crowded segment.
