Arabiat Egypt Unveils KGM Torres 2027 with New AISIN 8-Speed Transmission

Arabiat Egypt, the exclusive distributor of Korean brand KGM in Egypt, has unveiled the updated Torres 2027 during a ceremony held at the KGM Obour Center. The headline mechanical change is a new AISIN 8-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous 6-speed unit, along with a torque increase to 300 Nm. The event showcased exterior and interior updates, new features, and the local pricing and trim levels.

Exterior and Interior Updates for the KGM Torres 2027

Visually, the Torres 2027 receives a revised front grille, headlights. Front and rear bumpers, giving it a more modern look while retaining its SUV identity. A new color, Plasma Shadow, joins the palette available in Egypt. These tweaks are part of the distributor's push to offer competitive options in the compact SUV segment.

Inside, the cabin gets a redesigned steering wheel, center console, and transmission control unit. Wireless connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is now available. The Luxury and Black Edition trims add dual wireless phone charging pads. These enhancements aim to boost comfort and convenience for both driver and passengers.

AISIN 8-Speed Transmission and 300 Nm Torque

The most significant technical upgrade in the KGM Torres 2027 is the new AISIN 8-speed automatic. That replaces the previous 6-speed. This change is designed to improve shift smoothness and fuel efficiency, reflected also in the torque increase to 300 Nm. The numbers point to tangible performance gains.

During the event, Abdel Kadr Talaat, general manager of KGM Egypt, outlined the brand's evolution in the local market and stressed Arabiat Egypt's commitment to offering models that combine distinctive design with modern technology. Hany Omaya, head of marketing, presented a detailed comparison between the 2026 and 2027 versions, noting changes to the exterior, cabin, and powertrain. The Egyptian market now awaits the new trim levels and prices.

Official prices for the various trims have not yet been fully disclosed, but the event did reveal the new lineup for the local market. Arabiat Egypt is expected to announce full pricing in the coming days as the car becomes available at dealerships. Competition in the compact SUV space is heating up. The Torres 2027 aims to secure a strong position.
