June Imported Car Sales in Egypt: MG Leads the Race with a 24.4% Share
MG topped the list of best-selling imported cars in Egypt in June with a 24.4% market share, totaling 1,665 vehicles sold. Toyota ranked second with an 11.3% share, followed by Hyundai at 7.6%. The list also included Peugeot, Kia, Opel, Citroen, Geely, Chery, Changan, Mitsubishi, and Renault, showing intense competition among Asian, European, and Chinese brands in the Egyptian market.

The numbers confirm that the brand, once a British icon and now under Chinese ownership, has become a top choice for Egyptian buyers seeking modern features at a competitive price.
The Gap is Wide at the Top… But the Battle Below is Fierce
A total of 4,770 imported cars were sold in the Egyptian market in June, a figure that signals renewed momentum despite persistent currency challenges. Toyota secured the runner-up spot with an 11.3% share (770 cars), a performance that cements its enduring reputation for reliability among local customers.
The race for the next positions was tight. Hyundai grabbed third place with 7.6% (517 units), edging out Peugeot which came fourth with 6.6% (447 vehicles). Kia settled for fifth with a 6.1% share, representing 419 sold cars.
Opel and Citroen Battle in the Mid-Field
German engineering from Opel accounted for 5.6% of the market in June, securing 384 sales and sixth place, outpacing French rival Citroen which finished seventh with a 5.3% share (358 units). The contest between them for family sedan customers remains one of the closest in the market.
Chinese brands are making a significant push. Geely landed eighth with 4% (276 cars), while Chery took ninth with 3.7% (254 units). The surprise came from Changan, rounding out the top ten with a matching 3.7% share and 253 sales, highlighting the growing influence of Chinese automakers in Egypt's import segment.
The final spots on the list saw a blend of Japanese and French presence. Mitsubishi finished eleventh with 3.6% (242 cars), followed by Renault in twelfth with 3% (202 vehicles). These figures serve as a preliminary indicator of shifting consumer preferences, with a clear trend towards models offering the best value for money in a volatile economic climate.
