GB Auto has officially unveiled its new iCAUR brand, launching the V27 which belongs to the Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) category. The concept is simple yet ingenious: electric motors drive the wheels while a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine acts purely as a generator to recharge the battery — with zero mechanical connection to the wheels. The result? A combined range approaching 1000 kilometers under NEDC testing with a full tank and charged battery.

The real differentiator here is flexibility. Chinese brands understand that range anxiety remains the biggest hurdle for EV adoption in Egypt. That's why the V27 offers a clever compromise: drive it electrically for daily commutes, then rely on gasoline as backup power for long journeys. The iCAUR V27 arrives in Egyptian showrooms in two distinct configurations. The first trim is called Play, aimed at buyers seeking a complete electric experience at a reasonable price. The other two newcomers: variety targeting different segments

Alongside the V27, the Egyptian market welcomed two additional models from other Chinese brands. That segment is already witnessing a fierce battle among Chery, Changan. Geely — the newcomers will face serious competition.
