GB Auto Raises Prices on 4 Hyundai Models in Second October Hike
GB Auto has raised prices on four Hyundai models in Egypt: the Elantra, Tucson, Venue, and Ioniq 9. The second October hike added 20,000 EGP to the Venue, up to 50,000 EGP to the Tucson, a flat 15,000 EGP to every Elantra trim, and up to 100,000 EGP to the Ioniq 9. The Tucson Night trim alone rose 40,000 EGP, with free maintenance for 3 years offered through October 31.
GB Auto, the local distributor for Hyundai in Egypt, has raised prices on four models in one move. The Elantra, Tucson, Venue, and Ioniq 9 all received increases. It marks the second price hike in October alone, following an earlier adjustment to the locally assembled Elantra. The numbers tell the story: the Venue jumped 20,000 EGP, while most Tucson trims climbed 50,000 EGP.
Venue: 20,000 EGP Added to Blaze and Redline Trims
The Blaze trim of the Hyundai Venue moved from 869,000 EGP to 889,000 EGP. The Redline trim rose from 945,000 EGP to 965,000 EGP — a flat 20,000 EGP increase across both. That puts the Redline within striking distance of the 1 million EGP mark. A significant threshold for a compact crossover in this market.
Tucson Facelift 2027: Increases Up to 50,000 EGP
The Hyundai Tucson facelift 2027 saw mixed adjustments across its seven trims. The Shadow trim rose from 1,800,000 EGP to 1,850,000 EGP. Blaze went from 1,950,000 EGP to 2,000,000 EGP. Redline reached 2,100,000 EGP after a 50,000 EGP bump. Redline N Pack hit 2,175,000 EGP. Night climbed to 2,240,000 EGP with a 40,000 EGP increase. Black Diamond reached 2,350,000 EGP. The range-topping Nline settled at 2,450,000 EGP. Hyundai is also offering free maintenance for 3 years or 60,000 km on the Tucson through October 31.
Seven trims, seven adjustments — yet the increases were not uniform. Five trims took a 50,000 EGP hit, while Night alone rose 40,000 EGP. That gap is deliberate. It preserves the price ladder between trims and keeps the jump to the next tier predictable for buyers.
Elantra AD 2027: A Flat 15,000 EGP Across All Trims
The Hyundai Elantra AD 2027 received a uniform increase. The base Smart trim moved from 1,035,000 EGP to 1,050,000 EGP. Modern reached 1,150,000 EGP. Modern with sunroof hit 1,165,000 EGP. Top-line settled at 1,265,000 EGP. Every trim went up by exactly 15,000 EGP. The locally assembled Elantra has now been hit twice in October, putting it under real competitive pressure in the compact sedan segment.
Ioniq 9: The Biggest Jump — Up to 100,000 EGP
The electric Hyundai Ioniq 9 ME recorded the largest absolute increase. The Connect trim rose from 2,900,000 EGP to 3,000,000 EGP — a 100,000 EGP jump. Extreme reached 3,300,000 EGP. Calligraphy, the top trim, settled at 3,600,000 EGP. Increases across the range land between 50,000 and 100,000 EGP. The steepest in the entire list.
Ioniq 9 is still a fresh nameplate in Egypt's EV market. With all three trims now above 3 million EGP, it sits squarely in the premium electric space. Two hikes in one month signals the distributor is moving fast with exchange rate shifts. Hyundai prices locally are now more volatile than at any point this year.
What Does a Second October Hike Actually Mean?
Raising prices twice in a single month is unusual. The distributor is either front-running expected cost pressures or recalibrating to market movement. The locally built Elantra absorbed both increases. The first came early in October, the second now. That sequence suggests the distributor is reacting in real time to any shift in the cost equation.
Free maintenance for 3 years or 60,000 km on the Tucson until October 31 offers a temporary sweetener. Does it offset the hike? That's the call Egyptian buyers now face as new-car prices keep climbing. Hyundai remains one of the market's strongest players. But the new pricing forces a different calculation on the consumer side.
