New Car Price Hikes Hit Egypt in October 2026: Hyundai and Chery Lead Increases

New car prices in Egypt have surged starting October 2026, affecting petrol, electric, and hybrid models alike. Some vehicles saw two increases in less than a month. Hyundai Venue, for example, jumped 20,000 EGP on October 22 after an earlier hike in the same month. The increases also hit Chery, Hyundai Elantra AD, Tucson 2027, and the electric Ioniq 9.

Hyundai Raises Venue and Elantra AD Prices for the Second Time

A second increase for Elantra AD added 15,000 EGP per trim, bringing total October increases to 30,000 EGP. The new price for the Hyundai Venue Blaze trim reached 889,000 EGP, while the Redline trim hit 965,000 EGP. Will this trend continue? The successive hikes reflect heavy pressure on dealers and distributors amid currency fluctuations.

Elantra AD's four trims each rose by 15,000 EGP, with the first trim now at 1,050,000 EGP and the second at 1,150,000 EGP, while the third reached 1,165,000 EGP and the fourth 1,265,000 EGP. These increases follow an earlier adjustment in early October, meaning Elantra AD has seen two price hikes in under a month. Dealers justify the hikes with rising import and shipping costs, but the real pressure falls on buyers.

Tucson 2027 and Electric Ioniq 9 Among the Increases

50,000 EGP in one go. That's the size of the increase that hit Tucson 2027, with prices now starting at 1,850,000 EGP and reaching 2,450,000 EGP for the top trim. As for the Hyundai Ioniq 9 electric, the Connect trim rose from 2,900,000 to 3,000,000 EGP, the Extreme trim from 3,250,000 to 3,300,000 EGP, and the Calligraphy trim from 3,550,000 to 3,600,000 EGP. Increases in EVs specifically reflect additional challenges related to charging infrastructure and customs.

Chery Raises Prices on Several Models by 15,000 to 25,000 EGP

Chery cars saw increases ranging from 15,000 to 25,000 EGP on several models, with some variants also seeing earlier hikes during the same month. The Chery Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 4 Pro are among the affected models, according to dealer data. The increases come at a sensitive time as the Egyptian market awaits any new government move on customs or fees.
