Dollar Exchange Rate Stabilizes on Wednesday: Buying Between EGP 50.46 and 50.65
Stability is the word of the day. The US dollar held steady against the Egyptian pound in midday trading on Wednesday across major banks, with traders watching closely for any shift. The market waits.
Dollar Rates at Egyptian Banks Today
The Central Bank of Egypt recorded the lowest buying price at EGP 50.46, with a selling rate of EGP 50.59. These figures set the official benchmark that all operating banks track in the local market.
At the National Bank of Egypt, the dollar traded at EGP 50.58 for buying and EGP 50.68 for selling. A narrow gap separates it from Banque Misr, which posted EGP 50.61 for buying and EGP 50.71 for selling during Wednesday's session.
Slight Variations Across Institutions
Bank of Alexandria offered a marginally higher rate of EGP 50.62 for buying and EGP 50.72 for selling. But the widest spread appeared at Commercial International Bank (CIB), where the buying price hit EGP 50.65 — the highest among listed banks — against a selling price of EGP 50.75.
This relative calm reflects a temporary equilibrium in the foreign exchange market. Participants now await any policy interventions or economic shifts that could move the dollar in the coming days.
