Kaiyi Motors Egypt (KME) has announced a price reduction of up to 50,000 EGP on the 2026 Kaiyi E5 across two trims, a move aimed at boosting demand in the Egyptian market. The base trim now starts at 859,900 EGP instead of 888,000, while the higher trim drops to 899,900 EGP from 949,900. That is a serious gap for buyers shopping on a budget.

Turbo Engine and Real-World Efficiency

The Kaiyi E5 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT gearbox that simulates 9 speeds. It's a combination that delivers decent acceleration while keeping fuel economy in check for daily commutes and long highway drives. Numbers alone don't tell the whole story, but this powertrain feels tuned for practicality rather than sporty thrills.
