Cairo and Giza roads witnessed varying traffic congestion today, with traffic services deployed to secure citizen movement and guide drivers to alternative routes. The numbers are concerning.

Traffic Situation in Cairo

The Traffic Operations Room reported heavy congestion on October Bridge in both directions, with the ground level available as an alternative to avoid the jam. Traffic also slowed on the Ring Road for those coming from Maadi toward Monib, along with congestion on the Autostrad and high traffic volumes on Salah Salem Street for those coming from Al-Rahman Al-Rahim Mosque toward the Military Academy.

Areas including Nasr City, New Cairo, Ain Shams, and Ghamra up to Ramsis saw scattered congestion, extending to the Ramsis intersection with El-Galaa Street and the road from the Citadel toward Fustat. The Autostrad recorded slowdowns for those coming from Monib toward El-Basatin, while congestion appeared on the Nile Corniche in Maadi up to the Ring Road and Qasr El-Aini Street.

High traffic volumes appeared on the Ring Road toward Katameya and the Central Plateau, while the Marg Ring Road saw congestion for those coming from the agricultural road toward the Peace Tunnel and inside the tunnel for those coming from the provinces to Cairo. The 90th Street in the Fifth Settlement saw intermittent congestion for those coming from the Ring Road toward Downtown, while congestion rose on Abbas Bridge and University Bridge toward Al-Messa Square.

Traffic Situation in Giza

Giza streets saw moving congestion, with clear slowdowns on Al-Haram Street due to construction work at its intersection with Mariouteya. Scattered congestion appeared on Al-Bahr Al-Azam and Nile Tourist axes, the Ring Road descent toward Upper Egypt, and areas including Warraq and Mariouteya.

Traffic slowed on Faisal Street, particularly in the Tawabik area, with congestion extending to Sudan Street up to Cairo University and reaching Bulaq and Imbaba. The 26th of July Axis recorded heavy congestion in several sections, with continuous monitoring by traffic police to address any gridlocks and restore traffic flow.
