The Ministry of Housing continues implementing a comprehensive plan to upgrade the road network and major axes in Sadat City. The goal is clear: enhance infrastructure efficiency and improve traffic flow, while supporting urban expansion and accommodating the increasing car movement within the city.

Central Axis: Significant Progress

The ministry, in a report reviewed by Engineer Randa El-Menshawi, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, revealed progress in the central axis extending from Gamal Abdel Nasser Axis to Babylon Square, spanning 1.6 kilometers. About a thousand meters have already been paved, while work continues on the remaining segment of the road.

The project includes widening the road and linking it to the first and fifth residential areas, which enhances connectivity between city districts. The expected outcome? Reduced travel time and improved traffic flow on one of Sadat City's most crucial thoroughfares.

New Parking Areas and Enhanced Road Safety

One of the project's standout features is creating car parking spaces on both sides of the road, aiming to organize parking and reduce congestion. The works also include raising road safety levels and improving the axis's urban appearance, giving the road a more disciplined and attractive look.

The Minister of Housing stressed the need to complete the works on schedule, with full adherence to technical specifications and quality standards. She pointed out that developing roads and axes represents a key element supporting urban development and improving mobility quality in new cities, which directly impacts residents' daily lives.

Replacement and Renewal of Utility Networks: Top Priority

In a related move, the ministry is following up on the replacement and renewal of utility networks in the second residential area, with emphasis on quickly restoring roads and sidewalks to their original condition once excavation works finish. This measure ensures uninterrupted traffic flow and prevents prolonged congestion in the city's streets.

The report also reviewed progress on several infrastructure projects, including the sewage treatment plant, the drainage lifting station for the heavy industries area, and the turbid water pipelines project with a diameter of 1500 mm. The latter aims to boost the drinking water system's efficiency and secure the city's current and future needs.

Monitoring also covered the development of median strips on the regional ring road, which plays a role in raising road safety levels and improving the road's overall appearance. work proceeded on removing debris and excavation waste from the road separating Beit El Watan (13), residential areas (13) and (25), and the fourteenth area, with directives to promptly finish the work and restore sites to their normal state.
