Hyundai, Toyota and Kia headline the auction

Thursday, August 13 is the date. The General Authority for Governmental Services, under the Ministry of Finance, announced a public auction for the direct sale of several lots of private and scooter vehicles, all sourced as confiscated and abandoned property from Port Said customs. This is a rare opportunity for buyers to secure vehicles at competitive prices, and the details are worth close attention.

Auction session details and venue

The bidding session begins at noon sharp at the Al Hadarat Sports Club hall on Salah Salem Street, opposite Ain El Sira traffic office in Cairo. The Central Sales Authority, which oversees the transaction, set strict entry requirements. The terms booklet costs 400 Egyptian pounds — paid in cash, non-refundable whether you win or not. The fee is minimal compared to what is at stake here.

Eligible participants must also deposit a 50,000 EGP security amount before entering the hall. Successful bidders pay 30% of the lot's value immediately upon winning. The remaining balance must be settled within 15 days of the auction date. Those are tight terms for anyone serious about grabbing a deal.

The offered fleet spans widely known brands in Egypt's market, with notable entries such as the Hyundai Avante, Hyundai Tucson, Kia K3 and Kia Morning alongside the Kia Soul and Kia Forte and Kia Sorento. Also available are the Daewoo Lacetti, Chevrolet Trax, Mini Cooper, Toyota Yaris, a Mercedes saloon. A Skoda Octavia. The supervising committee stressed that all vehicles come in different year models, trims. Specifications, and the final sale follows the exact conditions outlined in the terms booklet. This isn't a blind bid, though — thorough reading is still required.
