Omar Balbaa: Overprice Returns Strongly as Offers Disappear from Egypt's Auto Market
Omar Balbaa, head of the Automotive Division at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, has revealed a gradual decline in vehicle supply within the Egyptian market, amid unclear indicators regarding the future of imports due to ongoing regional tensions and global conflicts.
Speaking on the 'Arabiyati' program on Egypt Radio, Balbaa stated that limited supply has brought the 'overprice' phenomenon back to the forefront, noting that its value has started to rise again as the gap between supply and demand widens.
He added that certain models have become less available in the market, directly impacting final consumer prices. Balbaa pointed out that the market is in a state of anticipation, awaiting clearer signals about import movements amid the current regional instability.
The division head confirmed that the market currently lacks any genuine offers or discounts, due to ongoing pressures from limited car availability relative to high demand.
