The Nissan Sunny topped the list of locally assembled cars in the Egyptian market during the first four months of the current year, recording total sales of 7,764 vehicles—significantly ahead of its closest competitor, according to the report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC). This strong performance underscores the model's established reputation among Egyptian consumers, thanks to the brand's reliability and cost-efficiency, making the Nissan Sunny the top choice for many families seeking a practical family car.

Competition for Top Positions

The Hyundai Elantra AD ranked second in the locally assembled car segment, with sales reaching 2,503 units. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Optra secured third place with total sales of 1,976 cars, reflecting the strong competition among mid-size sedans in the Egyptian market. These figures indicate that Egyptian buyers still favor sedans that offer a balance of affordable pricing and reasonable maintenance costs.

Chinese Brands Gaining Ground

The Changan CS55 Plus took fourth place with sales of 1,590 units, reinforcing the growing presence of Chinese brands in the local market. It was followed by the Chery Arrizo 5 in fifth with 1,446 cars, and the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro in sixth with 1,175 units. This distribution highlights the diversity of options available to buyers, especially as Chinese brands expand their portfolios with competitive pricing and advanced technological features.

Nissan and Hyundai Hold Firm in Lower Ranks

The Nissan Sentra ranked seventh among locally assembled models, with total sales of 1,173 cars. It was followed by the Chery Tiggo 7 in eighth with 895 units, and the Chery Tiggo 8 in ninth with 702 cars sold. The strong performance of two distinct Nissan models demonstrates the brand's ability to maintain a leading position in the local assembly market through diverse offerings.
