Nissan Keeps the Lead: A Look at Its Locally Assembled Cars in Egypt
The numbers speak for themselves. Nissan has retained its top spot in the Egyptian market for locally assembled cars for the fifth consecutive month, selling 10,409 units in the first five months of 2026. Data from AMIC reveals the brand commanded a 16.84% share of total passenger car sales, which reached 61,895 units during the same period. The margin over competitors is significant.
Nissan Sunny: The Budget Champion
The Nissan Sunny leads the locally assembled lineup with an entry price of EGP 765,000 for the AT Base trim. The mid-range AT Mid variant comes in at EGP 800,000, while the fully loaded AT Super Salon tops out at EGP 830,000. Under the hood lies a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 108 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 15.5 seconds — nothing sporty, but adequate for daily duties.
Nissan Sentra: More Muscle
Step up to the Nissan Sentra, available in a single Highline trim at EGP 1,050,000. The engine grows to a 1.6-liter four-cylinder unit delivering 118 horsepower and 154 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A CVT automatic transmission routes power to the front wheels, offering smoother acceleration and better fuel efficiency than the Sunny's older gearbox.
Nissan Magnite: The Newcomer Arrives
The freshest addition to Nissan's local assembly roster is the Magnite, unveiled at the company's Egyptian plant in early June before official pricing dropped just hours ago. The 2027 model launches in four trim levels, starting at EGP 788,000 for the base variant and EGP 848,000 for the second tier. Full specifications for the higher trims remain under wraps, but early indications suggest strong competition in the compact SUV segment.
