Nissan Leads Egypt's Car Sales in First 4 Months of 2026; Chevrolet and MG Follow

Japanese automaker Nissan has topped the list of best-selling passenger car brands in the Egyptian market during the first four months of 2026. According to the latest report from the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), Nissan captured a market share of 16.8%, with total sales reaching 10,814 units, securing the leading position in one of the most competitive periods for the local auto industry.

Chevrolet and MG Secure Top Positions

Chevrolet came in a close second place with a market share of 15.6%, after selling 10,075 vehicles during the same period. Meanwhile, MG ranked third with a 10.2% market share, achieving total sales of 6,598 units, reflecting the continued strong demand for Chinese brands in Egypt.

Fourth place went to Chery, which secured a 9.8% market share with 6,326 vehicles sold. Hyundai followed in fifth place with a 6.7% share, selling 4,301 cars, underscoring the strong presence of Korean brands among the top sellers.

Toyota and Other Brands in the Race

Toyota maintained its sixth-place position with a 6.5% market share, totaling 4,221 units sold. BAIC came in seventh with a 4.3% share, selling 2,788 vehicles. The following positions saw tight competition, with Changan ranking eighth at 4% and 2,566 cars sold, while Renault took ninth place with a 3.8% share and 2,464 units.

Data also showed that Mitsubishi ranked tenth with a 2.3% market share, selling 1,461 vehicles, followed closely by King Long in eleventh place with a similar 2.3% share and 1,454 cars sold. Peugeot secured twelfth place with a 2.2% market share after selling 1,411 cars.

Collectively, all other available brands in the local market accounted for a combined market share of 15.5%, with total sales reaching 9,984 vehicles during the same four-month period, highlighting the wide range of choices available to Egyptian car buyers.
