Data from the Egyptian Motor Insurance Pool has revealed the list of the most registered European car brands in Egypt during the first five months of 2026. The figures show intense competition among major European manufacturers, with Mercedes leading the ranking by a notable margin over its closest rivals.

Mercedes Leads While Skoda and Renault Follow

Mercedes topped the list of the most registered European car brands in Egypt during the first five months of the current year, recording 3,933 vehicles. Skoda came in second place with approximately 3,540 registrations across various traffic departments, trailing the leader by a slim margin. The third spot went to Renault, which registered 3,104 vehicles, reflecting sustained demand for European cars in the Egyptian market.

Volkswagen, Peugeot and Cupra Among Top Five

Volkswagen secured the fourth position with 3,058 units, while Peugeot ranked fifth after registering 2,302 cars. In sixth place, Cupra recorded 1,717 registrations, confirming the growing presence of the Spanish sporty brand in the Egyptian market in recent times.

BMW, Citroen, Seat and Fiat Close the Ranking

BMW came in seventh place with 1,306 registrations, followed by Citroen in eighth with 1,299 vehicles. Seat ranked ninth with 1,213 units, while Fiat closed the top ten with 1,058 registrations. These figures highlight the continued diversity in Egyptian consumer preferences toward European brands, with a clear focus on German automakers dominating the top positions.

It is worth noting that this data reflects the activity of the Egyptian car market during the period from January to May 2026, serving as an important indicator of European brand performance amid economic challenges and fierce competition from Asian brands, particularly Chinese and Korean manufacturers that are experiencing notable growth in the local market.
