For the first time in the Egyptian market's history, MG tops the list of most-registered passenger car brands during last July. The number is surprising. Data released by the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Company revealed 1,889 cars bearing the MG badge, a figure that exceeds all expectations in a market witnessing fierce competition among local distributors. The dominance wasn't limited to the brand as a whole, but extended to individual models as well.

Model Performance and Rankings Distribution

The ZS came as the brand's most-registered model with 632 units, a number reflecting growing confidence in this segment. In second place came Chery after registering 1,646 cars. The Arrizo 5 grabbed the largest share of the brand's registrations with 346 units. Does this order reflect a shift in Egyptian buyer preferences? The numbers clearly point in that direction.

Third place went to Hyundai with 1,572 cars. The Elantra led its brand's lineup with 588 units. Meanwhile, Nissan took fourth place with 1,499 cars, driven by the strong performance of the Sunny model. That alone registered 1,213 units. The gap between the top positions is narrow, yet it reflects completely different marketing strategies.

Rankings from Fifth to Tenth

In fifth place came Jetour with 1,458 cars. The T2 accounted for 272 units of the brand's total. Soueast came sixth with 1,209 cars, followed by Kia in seventh with 1,040 units, then Toyota in eighth with 915 cars. The figures show a clear convergence in performance among Asian brands, but the lead stays with MG.

Mercedes-Benz came in ninth place with 671 cars, followed by Chevrolet in tenth with 661 units. The gap between the lower positions widens, but it remains an indicator of the market's overall competitiveness. The picture becomes clearer when looking at the rest of the ranking.

Remaining Rankings and Final Takeaway

Skoda took eleventh place with 651 cars, a slight margin ahead of Geely. That came twelfth with 649 units. Then Changan in thirteenth with 627 cars, and Volkswagen in fourteenth with 623 units. Mitsubishi came fifteenth with 579 cars. These figures paint a clear picture of demand shifts in the Egyptian market, confirming that the fight for the top is now open to everyone.
