The major axes of Cairo and Giza witnessed heavy traffic congestion and slow vehicle movement during the morning peak hours. Traffic services were widely deployed to ensure the safety of citizens, manage the flow of vehicles, and guide drivers to alternative routes.

Cairo Traffic Conditions

Downtown areas and the Azhar Tunnel experienced significant traffic congestion. The Autostrad axis also saw heavy buildup for drivers coming from Helwan to Maadi and the Citadel, as well as from Maadi to the 15 May area and Bin El Gabalein, primarily due to an increase in transport truck movements. The Abbas Al-Aqqad axis experienced slow traffic, coinciding with high traffic volumes and congestion on the Ring Road, the 26 July Axis, and the October Bridge.

Traffic police in Cairo advised drivers to use the Corniche road as an alternative to the Autostrad, and Azhar Street instead of the Azhar Tunnel to avoid congestion. Meanwhile, slow vehicle movement was observed in Heliopolis, Maadi, and El Monial. High traffic volumes were recorded in Qasr El Aini, Downtown, and the Azhar Tunnel, while the Salah Salem axis saw medium density. High congestion also appeared on the Nile Corniche towards Maspero and El Moeassasa, whereas traffic flow remained regular on the Aviation Axis.

Traffic Updates in Giza and October City

In Giza, the areas of Agouza and Mohandessin experienced scattered medium traffic density due to increased vehicle movement. Medium congestion was observed on the Haram and Remaya axes, while heavy buildup extended to Safet El Laban, Faisal, Tabakat, Giza Square, Sudan Street, and the Bin El Sarayat area.

In 6th of October City, most areas experienced medium traffic density, with the exception of the Central Axis, which recorded high traffic volumes and significant congestion.
