Locally Assembled Haval Jolion Facelift Jumps EGP 35K in Egypt
The increase is far from subtle. GB Auto, the exclusive distributor of Haval in Egypt, has raised the price of the locally assembled Haval Jolion Facelift by EGP 35,000 across all trims this August, putting the crossover under fresh pressure in a market already coping with continuous shifts.
Trims and Official Pricing After the Update
The hatchback-style SUV now lands in three equipment levels. The base trim starts at EGP 985,000, the mid-level trim sits at EGP 1,035,000, while the fully loaded version reaches EGP 1,135,000. The gaps are noticeable. Haval prices carry more weight now, a direct result of climbing local manufacturing costs.
Engine and Performance Details
Under the hood, the Jolion relies on a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 148 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (7DCT) with oil cooling handles the shifts, offering a balanced drive with decent fuel economy, the kind of setup that suits Egyptian roads and traffic patterns.
Dimensions back up the family-first approach. The Jolion measures 4,472 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width, and rides on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, which translates to a roomy cabin and solid rear-seat comfort for daily commutes and longer trips alike.
Safety Suite and Equipment Levels
Standard safety gear includes ABS, EBD, electronic stability control (ESP), traction control, hill-start assist, and hill-descent control. Haval insists on a robust safety baseline even at entry level.
Higher trims add six airbags plus an advanced driver-assistance package featuring forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. These features are becoming expected among rivals, but having them at this price point gives the Jolion a real edge in the current Egyptian market.
