The governor handed over 20 new minibus licenses to support Badrashin as part of an initiative to license 115 vehicles. Giza Governorate has recorded 1,672 traffic violations during 55 inspection campaigns targeting minibus routes and official parking stands. The number is substantial and reflects the scale of violations tracked daily by the public transport authority in coordination with relevant departments, ranging from route deviation to manipulating the announced passenger fare, with fines immediately imposed on offending drivers.
20 New Minibus Licenses to Serve Badrashin
As part of the governorate's initiative to license 115 minibus vehicles, Governor Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari handed over 20 new minibus licenses to support the city of Badrashin and the routes departing from it, and these licenses come within the fourth phase of the initiative dedicated to the Badrashin center and city, with the initiative targeting improved public transport services for citizens in southern Giza cities and facilitating their daily movement.
The new licenses will serve three vital main routes. The first route is Badrashin – Monib, the second is Sakkara/Maryoutiya – October, and the third is Sakkara/Maryoutiya – Haram, and these routes cover densely populated areas and directly address the needs of a wide segment of citizens, as the governor directed public transport authority officials to coordinate with the Badrashin center and city to ensure drivers commit to the designated routes for each vehicle, and to be present at the official parking stands where they are registered to maximize the initiative's benefits.
Fixed Traffic Lane in the End of Faisal Area
Improving traffic flow in the End of Faisal area was a separate item on the governor's agenda, as he directed the Giza Traffic Department to allocate a fixed traffic lane using metal barriers to organize minibus movement, and this step aims to reduce random waiting of vehicles in the area and achieve the required traffic fluidity, which represents a tangible shift in managing vehicle density in one of Giza's most congested streets.
The inspection campaigns were not limited to monitoring alone but extended to organizing the entire scene. The public transport authority conducts periodic campaigns on main axes, roads, and official parking stands across the entire governorate, and the results demonstrate the governorate's insistence on enforcing discipline and deterring violators, while continuing efforts to improve the citizen's experience with public transport in Giza.
