Egypt's Car Division Warns: Supply Shortage Threatens Small Dealers with Closure
Omar Balbaa, Head of the Car Division at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, has issued a stark warning regarding the negative repercussions of the ongoing vehicle supply shortage in the local automotive market. He emphasized that if the current market conditions persist, small car dealers may be forced to scale down their operations or completely halt their business activities.
Balbaa highlighted that the automotive retail sector heavily relies on adequate inventory to sustain a steady flow of sales and purchases. He noted that the limited availability of vehicles has emerged as a significant challenge specifically for independent traders and small dealers, rather than official agents and authorized distributors.
Furthermore, the Head of the Car Division explained that many small dealers are facing increasing difficulties in sourcing sufficient vehicle volumes to maintain their regular commercial operations. He cautioned that the prolonged decline in market supply could severely impact their ability to meet monthly financial obligations, ultimately threatening these businesses with permanent closure.
