Comprehensive Review of Roadside Advertising Plans Across Governorates and New Cities to Enhance Urban Landscape
Strategic Review of Roadside Advertising
The National Authority for Regulating Advertisements on Public Roads, operating under the Prime Ministry, has initiated a comprehensive review of new advertising layouts across various governorates and new cities. This strategic move aims to tighten the regulation of the advertising system on public roads, enhance the urban landscape, and ensure strict compliance with approved regulatory standards.
Coordination and Compliance
Eng. Iman Nabil, CEO of the Authority, led a series of coordination meetings with governorate officials and new city authorities. The discussions focused on evaluating the current inventory of existing advertisements and assessing new proposals to ensure they align with the Authority's guidelines, which are established in accordance with the law and its executive regulations.
During the sessions, Eng. Iman Nabil emphasized the critical importance of strictly adhering to the official guidelines when drafting new advertising plans. She noted that the Authority thoroughly reviews all proposals prior to approval to guarantee the achievement of both regulatory and urban development objectives.
Focus on Damietta and Giza
The meetings, which were attended by Counselor Waleed El-Boushy, Legal Advisor to the Minister of Local Development, and Dr. Tamer Abdo, Advertising Consultant at the National Housing and Building Research Center, included a detailed review of the executive status in the Damietta and Giza governorates. Participants examined the inventory and proposed plans for several centers and districts, preparing them for final approval once the required amendments are implemented.
Balancing Urban Aesthetics and Economic Returns
Attendees highlighted the necessity of following strict regulations regarding the distribution of roadside advertisements. This approach is designed to preserve the urban fabric and architectural character of the governorates, strike a balance between economic returns and the visual appeal of the roads, maximize the utilization of advertising locations, and boost the financial revenues of the governorates.
Concluding the directives, the CEO of the Authority stressed the importance of strictly observing the expiration dates of existing advertising licenses. Furthermore, she mandated the application of the newly approved plans whenever renewing or issuing new licenses, a measure expected to significantly organize roadside advertising and elevate the overall visual experience on public roads.
