Chevrolet Dominates 82% of Egypt's Pickup Truck Sales in 5 Months
The numbers are decisive. Chevrolet captured an 82% share of Egypt's pickup truck market in the first five months of the year, selling 7,201 units out of a total 8,798 trucks in the segment during that period, according to the latest report from the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC). The figures tell a clear story.
Toyota, Nissan, and GMC Battle Behind the Leader
The fight for the remaining positions tells a different tale. Toyota secured second place among the best-selling pickup brands in Egypt, holding a 7% market share with 651 vehicles sold over the same timeframe. The gap behind the leader is massive.
Nissan claimed third with a 6% share, totaling 522 trucks — a notable result for a Japanese brand known for its competitive presence in this vital category. GMC followed in fourth place at 5% with 424 units, rounding out the top quartet in a market witnessing growing demand for practical, multi-purpose vehicles.
What These Numbers Mean for Egypt's Market
Chevrolet's overwhelming dominance here is no accident; it mirrors buyer confidence in an American brand that has delivered dependable models over the years, proven in Egypt's demanding conditions — from desert roads to agricultural routes to congested city streets. An 82% share means eight out of every ten pickup trucks sold in Egypt carry the iconic bowtie badge. With sustained demand for this vehicle category, the pressing question remains: can rival brands narrow the gap in the coming months?
