The General Authority for Government Services, affiliated with the Ministry of Finance, has announced a major public auction for used passenger cars seized by Cairo International Airport Customs. The lots include abandoned, confiscated, and impounded vehicles spanning various model years. The auction marks a rare opportunity for buyers seeking competitive prices on diverse vehicles.

Auction Date and Location Details

The auction session is set for 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 18, as stipulated in the tender documents. The venue is the Al Hadarat Sports Club hall on Salah Salem Street, opposite Ein El Sira traffic office in Cairo Governorate. Interested participants have only days to prepare their paperwork and financial commitments before the session opens.

Highlighted Vehicles in the Auction Lots

The first lot features a Peugeot 407 (2006), a Hyundai Tucson (2016), an Audi A4 (2008), and a Mercedes E240 (1998). Also included are a Chevrolet Blazer (2005), a BMW 645 (2006), a Kia Soul (2018), and two Komodo units — the GLX and VLX trims, both from 2009.

The second lot is broader, including a Mitsubishi Pajero (2008), a Mazda CX-9 (2008), a Porsche Cayenne (2004), and a Mercedes E350 (2011). The list extends to a Nissan Infiniti (2009), an Audi TT (2000), a Kia Picanto (2012), a Ford Mustang (2009), a Nissan Juke (2013), a Mitsubishi Outlander (2016), and a BMW X5 (2005).

A third lot adds a GMC Acadia (2007), a Skoda Octavia (2005), a Toyota Camry (2007), a Range Rover (2010), a Jeep Grand Cherokee (2008), a Chevrolet Cruze (2012), a Chrysler C300 (2012), and a Komodo L (2009). The variety spans economy hatchbacks to premium SUVs, giving bidders a wide spectrum of choices.

Subscription Conditions and Required Deposit

Participation requires purchasing the tender conditions booklet for 400 EGP, available at the Authority's headquarters in the Ministry of Finance towers, extension of Ramses Street, Tower 2. An additional mandatory step is paying the insurance deposit of 50,000 EGP before the auction day — a prerequisite also applied to the Suez maritime customs auction.

The supervising committee confirmed that sales proceed without commission. That prior inspection serves as the foundation of the purchase process. Winning bidders must finalize procedures according to the governing rules. A careful pre-auction inspection is essential, especially for impounded or neglected units that may demand a thorough technical evaluation before committing.
