The numbers are significant. The latest report from the Egyptian Mandatory Vehicle Insurance Company revealed the total number of new cars registered in Egypt during the first seven months of this year, reaching 153,879 vehicles across all traffic departments nationwide.

Nissan Leads with a Clear Margin

Nissan topped the list of the most registered cars in the Egyptian market during the first 7 months of 2026, with a total of 16,412 cars. This figure reflects a notable dominance of the Japanese brand in the local market during the mentioned period.

The gap is wide compared to the closest competitors. The data showed Nissan leading with a clear margin over MG, which came in second place with 11,896 cars, followed by Chery in third with 10,593 cars — a ranking that reflects the fierce competition among Asian brands in the Egyptian market.

Top Five Ranks: Battle for Leading Positions

Hyundai secured fourth place on the list of the most registered brands during the period, recording approximately 9,486 cars, while Jetour came in fifth with 8,918 cars. The leading positions show a clear advance by Chinese brands offering competitively priced products.

Soueast occupied sixth place on the list of the most registered brands in Egypt during the period, with a total of 6,558 cars. Kia came in seventh with approximately 5,973 cars, while Toyota ranked eighth with 5,357 cars.

Tight Races at the Bottom of the List

In ninth place, Mercedes recorded 5,325 cars, a narrow margin over Chevrolet, which took tenth place with 5,233 cars. The competition in the middle of the ranking appears even more intense among different brands.

Moving down the ranks, Skoda came in eleventh place on the list of the most registered cars in the Egyptian market, recording 4,847 cars during the period. Volkswagen ranked twelfth with 4,248 cars, just 3 cars ahead of Changan, which came in thirteenth with 4,245 cars.

Renault took fourteenth place with 3,981 cars, while Geely came in fifteenth and last on the monitored list, recording approximately 3,646 cars. The list paints a fairly complete picture of brand performance in the Egyptian market over the past seven months.
