15 Waste Sorting Points Removed in 6th of October City Traffic Improvement Campaign
Heavy campaigns are sweeping through the streets of 6th of October City. The goal is singular — improving traffic flow and easing congestion on major arteries. The city's development authority reports tangible results in several key areas, from Boulevard to Gamal Abdel Nasser Street.
Infrastructure Development for Road Network
6th of October City continues executing a package of road and traffic corridor development projects, a step aimed at improving vehicle traffic flow and providing faster routes for movement between main neighborhoods and regional roads. At the forefront is the Engineer Alaa Abdelaziz Axis — known as the Boulevard Road — considered one of the most prominent infrastructure projects currently underway in the city.
Engineer Randa Al-Minshawi, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, personally followed up on implementation rates. The axis will connect the Dahshour link to the Middle Ring Road, directly contributing to enhanced connectivity between main corridors. The expected result — reducing traffic pressure on several vital roads while facilitating access to residential and investment areas within 6th of October City.
It's a significant undertaking. The minister stressed the need to accelerate the execution of road and facility works to get the axis operational as soon as possible. Its anticipated role extends beyond accommodating the continuous increase in traffic movement to include improving the overall efficiency of the road network amid ongoing urban expansion.Removing Encroachments and Improving Traffic Flow
Parallel to development projects, the 6th of October City authority continues its intensive campaigns to remove encroachments and violations affecting traffic flow. These campaigns covered multiple critical axes — Gamal Abdel Nasser, Boulevard, Janna Axis, the Tourist Walkway, and tourist areas. Even the industrial zone and the northern, southern, and western sectors were included in the sweep.
The results speak for themselves. Removal of illegal occupations and activities that obstructed vehicle and pedestrian movement. Most critically — the clearance of 15 waste sorting points in the industrial zone, hotspots that negatively impacted both aesthetics and traffic movement. The authority also seized several violating vehicles, carts, and equipment, taking legal action against violators.
Support for the sanitation system didn't stop there. The city bolstered services by deploying additional equipment to serve neighborhoods and industrial zones. Regular performance monitoring continues, aiming to maintain road readiness and improve the surrounding environment.
The Housing Minister reiterated that developing the road network and corridors and raising their efficiency remains a top priority. These efforts fall within a broader vision to achieve genuine traffic fluidity in 6th of October City, especially with the accelerated growth in residential and investment projects demanding infrastructure capable of absorbing this urban expansion.
