Kia Q3 Sales Rise 10.1% with 847,355 Units Sold Worldwide
Kia reported a 10.1% year-on-year rise in third-quarter sales to 31.59 trillion won, backed by global wholesale volume of 847,355 units. Overseas markets made up 83.4% of total sales, and the brand's global market share rose to 4% in the first nine months. Net profit still fell 9.6% to 1.28 trillion won due to unfavorable currency moves and rising raw material costs that added nearly 600 billion won.
Kia reported a 10.1% year-on-year increase in third-quarter sales, reaching 31.59 trillion won. That is a big number. Global wholesale volume hit 847,355 units, up 7.9%, driven by strong demand for the Korean brand's models in overseas markets.
Overseas Markets Drive the Growth
Sales outside Korea accounted for 83.4% of Kia's total Q3 volume, while the domestic market contributed just 16.6%. That heavy export reliance gives the company flexibility, but it also ties its performance to global market swings. Kia's worldwide market share climbed to 4% in the first nine months of the year, up 0.4 percentage points from the same period a year earlier.
Net Profit Falls Despite Strong Operations
Higher sales did not translate into higher net profit. Kia posted a 9.6% drop in net profit to 1.28 trillion won ($961.6 million), down from 1.42 trillion won a year earlier. Unfavorable currency movements were the main culprit. The company said rising raw material costs and the ongoing Middle East conflict added nearly 600 billion won in extra costs.
Lower US Tariffs Support Operating Profit
Still, Kia delivered strong operating profit, helped by reduced US tariffs on imported cars. That tariff relief eased pressure on operating margins, but it was not enough to offset currency losses and raw material expenses. Will the pressure carry into the fourth quarter?
Models like the Kia Sportage and Kia Cerato carry much of the brand's overseas volume, while the Kia Sorento anchors the family SUV segment. The numbers show demand in these segments remains resilient despite economic headwinds.
The bottom line is that Kia prices in the Egyptian market could be affected by Korean currency moves and shipping costs, but strong global sales give the brand more leverage with suppliers. The numbers speak for themselves.
