Three Fire Stations and Two Public Transport Hubs Completed Under Decent Life Projects in Qena
The Ministry of Local Development and Environment announced the completion of three fire stations and two public transport hubs as part of the presidential “Decent Life” initiative in Qena Governorate. The announcement coincides with the operation of 19 government service complexes that are now serving residents of the targeted villages.
The update was presented during a meeting between Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment, and Major General Dr. Mostafa El-Beblawy, Governor of Qena, at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting focused on reviewing progress rates for development and public service projects, as well as assessing the status of key files across the governorate.
Decent Life Projects Progress in Qena
Officials reviewed the implementation status of the presidential “Decent Life” initiative in Qena, which targets 86 villages across five districts through the execution of 1,683 projects. More than 1,000 projects have been fully completed, while the remaining projects have reached an implementation rate of 91.5%.
The Governor of Qena stated that projects being carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Local Development and Environment include 19 government service complexes operating at full capacity, in addition to five local administration projects comprising three fire stations and two public transport hubs. These projects have been completed, with several already in operation.
Accelerating Project Delivery
The Minister of Local Development and Environment emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring of ongoing projects and accelerating completion rates to ensure they enter service as quickly as possible and deliver maximum benefits to citizens, while removing any obstacles that could affect implementation.
Supporting Sustainable Development
The meeting also reviewed the European Union for “Decent Life” project in Qena Governorate, which targets 39 villages in the districts of Qus and Abu Tesht. The initiative focuses on supporting sustainable local economic development and strengthening value chains for agricultural activities and products that align with climate-related challenges.
In addition, discussions covered efforts to improve public services, cleanliness, beautification, and waste management, alongside ongoing infrastructure projects across multiple sectors. The meeting also addressed the status of building violation reconciliation procedures, state land legalization, and the implementation of the 29th wave of encroachment removal campaigns.
