Kia launched the Grand Cerato in Egypt as a 2019 model with a completely redesigned exterior and larger dimensions than its predecessor, competing in the family sedan segment against the Elantra, Corolla, and Sentra. The car pairs a spacious cabin and solid equipment list with a carryover engine and a noticeable shortage of modern safety features.

Engine & Performance
The Grand Cerato carries over the previous generation's 1.6-litre four-cylinder GDI engine, producing 130 hp at 6,300 rpm and 155 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed automatic driving the front wheels. The engine needs higher revs to deliver its full output but performs adequately at lower speeds. Despite the unchanged engine, responsiveness improved thanks to a revised platform and a lower curb weight of 1,293 kg, with 0-100 km/h in 12 seconds, a top speed of 190 km/h, and average fuel consumption of 6.9L/100km. The transmission shifts smoothly and offers a sport mode for quicker response.
Interior & Cabin Space
At 4,640mm long — 80mm longer than the previous generation — with a width of 1,798mm and height of 1,440mm on the same 2,700mm wheelbase, the car gained noticeably more head and legroom front and rear. The rear bench comfortably seats three thanks to a low transmission tunnel, and boot space grew to 502 litres from 421 litres previously. Cabin noise insulation improved significantly, remaining effective even at moderate speeds. The interior has a modern, European-feeling design with an 8-inch touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear camera, and keyless start on higher trims, though the top trim lacks digital climate control and leather upholstery.
Maintenance & Resale
Spare parts and service availability are generally not a concern given how widespread the model is, though parts pricing reflects its relatively recent design. In the Egyptian market it sells in smaller numbers than rivals like the Elantra and Corolla, partly due to its European styling direction and lighter safety kit, but it retains solid resale value thanks to the Cerato nameplate's reputation for reliability.
