It features compact dimensions and safety equipment including six airbags, ESP, HAC and lane departure warning.
Mansour Automotive, the exclusive local agent for Opel in Egypt, has launched the 2027 Opel Corsa hatchback with a EGP 50,000 price increase over the previous model. The car is offered in a single Topline+ trim at an official EGP 1.3 million.
Turbocharged Performance in the Corsa 2027
The headline figure is 130 horsepower. The Opel Corsa 2027 relies on a 1.2-litre turbo engine producing 130 hp and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds, while average fuel consumption stands at around 4.6 litres per 100 km — figures that reflect a clear push toward efficiency without sacrificing performance.
Compact Dimensions and Comprehensive Safety
Is 309 litres enough for a family hatchback? Total length is 4060 mm, width 1960 mm, height 1433 mm, with a 2538 mm wheelbase. The rear boot holds 309 litres, and the car rides on 17-inch sport wheels. On the safety front, the Opel Corsa packs six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP and HAC, plus lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, a panoramic rear camera, tyre pressure monitoring and traffic sign recognition. Smart braking and light and rain sensors are also included.
Competition in the Compact Hatchback Segment
Competition won't be easy. The Corsa 2027 targets buyers seeking a European hatchback with a small engine and advanced safety kit, but the new price puts it head-to-head with Asian and European alternatives in the same bracket. Does the increase justify itself?
The numbers alone don't settle the comparison. Anyone after a hatchback with a 1.2-litre turbo and 130 hp will lean toward the Opel Corsa, while others may prefer different options at the same budget. The EGP 50,000 hike likely reflects import cost and equipment changes — and it counts against the car in a price-sensitive market.
How the Egyptian market receives the new version remains to be seen. The 2027 Corsa is now available from the agent in Topline+ trim only, and buyers can compare Opel prices in the local market.
