Jac J5 Launches in Egypt Starting at EGP 1.195 Million
Ezz El Arab El Sewedy has launched the Jac J5 in Egypt with two trims priced at EGP 1,195,000 and EGP 1,325,000. The compact SUV runs a 1.5-litre turbo engine producing 157 hp and 250 Nm, mated to a CVT and front-wheel drive. It measures 4,380 mm long with a 480-litre boot and offers safety features including 540-degree camera vision and lane keeping assist. The pricing is part of a limited-time promotional offer backed by a 7-year or 250,000 km warranty.
The Jac J5 has officially arrived in Egypt, with prices starting at EGP 1,195,000 for the base trim. The announcement came from Ezz El Arab El Sewedy, the local distributor for Jac and Omoda, which confirmed the compact SUV is available in just two trims for now and that the pricing is part of a limited-time promotional offer tied to the brand's first appearance in the Egyptian market.
Jac J5 Pricing and Trims for the Egyptian Market
The first trim is priced at EGP 1,195,000, while the second comes in at EGP 1,325,000. Those figures place the Jac J5 squarely in the heart of the compact crossover fight. The distributor is backing the launch with a 7-year or 250,000 km warranty, plus a separate engine warranty covering 10 years or one million kilometres — a package that's far from standard in this price bracket.
1.5-Litre Turbo Engine and CVT Gearbox
Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit producing 157 hp and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive. The setup gives the Jac J5 enough muscle to compete with established compact SUVs on Egyptian roads. An independent rear suspension is also part of the package, a detail that should pay off in ride comfort and handling balance.
Dimensions and Interior Space
The Jac J5 measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width. 1,650 mm in height, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase. Boot capacity stands at 480 litres, and the cabin seats five. Wheels come in 17- and 18-inch sizes depending on trim. The car offers multiple driving modes plus an auto-hold function — practical touches for daily driving in heavy traffic.
Safety Equipment Across Both Trims
Airbag count varies by trim, with either four or six airbags on offer. Standard safety kit includes rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, 540-degree camera vision, rear parking collision prevention, child seat anchorage, tyre pressure monitoring, and cruise control. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, door open warning. Rear cross-traffic braking are also part of the package. Adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane assist. Lane keeping assist round out the advanced driver assistance suite.
