The numbers are alarming. Nissan Magnite dealers in Egypt have already started imposing overprices just days after its market launch, with premiums reaching EGP 60,000 above the official price tag. Some buyers are paying far more than expected.

The Overprice Phenomenon Returns

Overprice is an unofficial price hike dealers enforce on high-demand cars with limited supply. Despite the Magnite's competitive pricing, strong buyer interest triggered immediate exploitation. This practice isn't new in Egypt's auto market, but it resurfaces with every successful launch.

The problem deepens because buyers rarely say no. Many prefer paying the premium rather than waiting months on reservation lists. Will this behavior shift anytime soon? There are no clear signals yet.

Nissan Magnite Official Prices in Egypt

The Magnite is available in four distinct trims, starting at EGP 788,000 for the base version and reaching EGP 888,000 for the top-tier model. Here is the full breakdown:

The entry-level Visia trim costs EGP 788,000, followed by the Acenta at EGP 848,000. The Tekna trim comes in at EGP 868,000, while the range-topping Tekna+ starts from EGP 888,000. Each trim offers a different set of features targeting various customer segments.

Engine and Dimensions

Under the hood, the Magnite packs a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 100 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. A CVT automatic gearbox handles power delivery, with fuel consumption rated at 6.3 litres per 100 kilometres. The fuel tank holds 36 litres — adequate for a car of this size.

Dimensions are compact and city-friendly. Length measures 3999 mm, width 1758 mm, and height 1572 mm, with a 2500 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance of 205 mm allows for decent bump and rough road negotiation. Curb weight stands at 1103 kg, while gross vehicle weight reaches 1486 kg.

Exterior and Interior Features

The Magnite rides on 16-inch wheels with a full-size spare tyre. Front and rear bumpers are body-coloured, and side mirrors offer electric adjustment. Chrome door handles add a touch of sophistication. Halogen headlights are standard on the base trim, while LED units equip the higher trims, alongside daytime running LEDs.

Boot capacity measures 336 litres — generous for a subcompact crossover. Fold the rear seats, and that figure swells to 690 litres. A rear glass area ensures good visibility, with a roof load limit of just 50 kg.
