Ford has officially unveiled the Lincoln Corsair Hybrid 2027, bringing back a model that was previously slated for discontinuation in America. Production now moves to China, with exports heading to the U.S. market and a brand-new hybrid powertrain producing 305 horsepower. The starting price stands at $48,000.

A comeback that surprised everyone

Last fall, Ford announced it would stop building the Corsair at its Louisville, Kentucky plant to make room for the all-electric Ford Fathom pickup truck. Yet official documents surfaced in June revealing a 2027 model year, confirming the company's pivot to continue the compact luxury SUV's life. The decision reversed expectations in a dramatic fashion.

According to automotive media, the Ford Corsair's design differs notably from the 2026 version. The front grille is wider and no longer mounted on a horizontal trim piece, while the headlights are slimmer with an LED light bar running across the lower front fascia into the grille, echoing the Aviator's styling. Front and rear bumpers were redesigned. The wide taillight now features a more luxurious look housing the Lincoln emblem.

Trim levels and exterior choices

Three new wheel designs are offered in 18, 19. 20-inch sizes, alongside five fresh exterior colors: Night Blue, Copper, Fire Red, Manhattan Green, and Platinum White. The "Jet Appearance" trim adds black exterior accents, while the top-spec "Reserve" package brings black 20-inch wheels. The visual difference between trims is apparent, yet both carry the new design language proudly.

Every 2027 Corsair runs on a hybrid system combining a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two electric motors. A continuously variable automatic transmission handles shifting, and all-wheel drive comes as standard equipment. Total system output reaches 305 horsepower — a significant jump from last year's 266 hp.

What happened to electric-only range?
