Egypt's market just got a new seven-seat hybrid SUV. Al-Arab Al-Sewedy Investments, the local distributor for OMODA and Jaecoo, has officially launched the Jaecoo J8 AWD PHEV at EGP 2.65 million in a single trim. The number is bold for a plug-in hybrid family SUV. Competition in this bracket is about to heat up.

The Jaecoo J8 PHEV runs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection GDI, mated to a three-speed hybrid automatic transmission 3DHT and an AWD system.
