Hyundai Unveils All-New Tucson Globally with Larger Body and Bolder Design

Hyundai has taken the wraps off the all-new generation of its Hyundai Tucson compact SUV, marking a full redesign six years after the fourth generation debuted in 2020. The new model is 60 mm longer and 40 mm wider than before. The numbers tell the story.

Hyundai Tucson Hits 10 Million Sales Milestone

The Tucson is the first SUV in Hyundai Motor Group's history to achieve a cumulative sales record of 10 million units. Since its launch in 2004 through August of this year, it has sold 10,616,102 units, with more than nine out of ten sold overseas. The achievement cements the Tucson's place in the global SUV market. Hyundai plans to announce pricing and start domestic sales in Korea next month.

Size and Interior Space Upgrades on the New Hyundai Tucson

The most significant change in the new Tucson is its size. The vehicle measures 4,700 mm in length — 60 mm longer than before — with a width of 1,905 mm (up 40 mm) and a wheelbase of 2,785 mm (up 30 mm). Rear-seat knee room has increased by 14 mm, headroom by 29 mm. Cargo capacity by 22 liters. Hyundai said: 'Because SUV customers often travel with family or carry various items, we focused on improving space utilization.'

Bolder Design and New Safety Tech

The design is more aggressive than the fourth generation. Instead of complex lines, it focuses on clean surfaces and pronounced wheel arches. Vertical daytime running lights at both ends of the front end make the vehicle appear wider. The Tucson's width is 5 mm more than the Santa Fe, a larger segment. Is that enough to challenge European rivals?

The new Hyundai Tucson also debuts Hyundai's first application of a safety technology called 'Power Replication for Door Unlock.' This system allows the door to be unlocked using a separate backup power source even if the main power is cut during a collision. The rear door opening angle has been increased from 73 degrees to 83 degrees, making it easier to place a child in a car seat or load large items. Hyundai prices in the Egyptian market will be determined later, but the new Tucson represents a significant leap in the compact SUV segment.
