Chevrolet Optra 2027 Launches in Egypt at EGP 765,000

The cheapest American-brand family car in Egypt has finally arrived. Al-Mansour Automotive, the exclusive local distributor for Chevrolet, announced the availability of the Optra sedan 2027 model in two trim levels during August. The base trim starts at EGP 765,000, while the higher-spec version reaches EGP 790,000.

The gap between trims is just EGP 25,000. According to the official price list, the Chevrolet Optra now stands as the most affordable American-brand passenger car in the Egyptian market. That price point makes it a compelling choice for families on a budget, backed by the brand's reputation for durability and readily available spare parts.

Engine Specifications of the New Optra

Under the hood, the locally assembled Optra — built at the company's 6th of October City plant — relies on a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Power output is a modest 98 hp, but torque reaches 140 Nm. The engine pairs with an 8-speed CVT automatic transmission — a setup that delivers smooth city driving and improved fuel efficiency.

Exterior dimensions are practical and family-oriented. The Optra measures 4,490 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, 1,490 mm in height, with a 2,550 mm wheelbase and 125 mm ground clearance at full load. Trunk space expands from 475 liters to 910 liters with rear seats folded — an excellent figure in this price bracket.

Safety Features in the Chevrolet Optra

Safety was clearly a priority in the new Optra's equipment list. The car features front airbags, ABS anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution EBD, electronic stability control ESC, rear parking sensors, a rear camera.
