Seven Ferraris in one auction. That's a rare sight even in the world of car collecting, but the Monterey 2026 sale presents a lineup spanning over four decades of the Italian manufacturer's history in building supercars. Each car in this collection represents a different milestone in the brand's journey, from the turbo era to fully electric territory.

A Collection That Tells Ferrari's Full Story

The group includes the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari, and Daytona SP3. But the real surprise is the Ferrari Luce Chassis 0, the first production chassis from the program for Ferrari's first fully electric car. Five of these cars represent the series that built Ferrari's reputation in the supercar world, while the Luce points to a completely different direction for the brand's future.

The auction takes place in Monterey from August 13 to 15, 2026. Expectations are high that the Ferraris will be among the standout stars of California's Car Week this year, especially with this lineup that brings old and new together in one place.

288 GTO.. The True Beginning

It starts with the Ferrari 288 GTO from 1985, the car that Ferrari enthusiasts consider the true starting point of the modern supercar series. It was originally designed to meet Group B racing regulations, but the cancellation of the category left Ferrari with an extremely radical car and no championship to race it in. The result turned into one of the most sought-after cars of the eighties among collectors.

The version offered at the auction is no ordinary example; it's among the least-driven surviving units. Estimates suggest a very limited number of 288 GTOs have covered less than a thousand miles since new, making this example exceptional even among rare cars.

F40.. 320 Miles and a Remarkable Ownership History

Next comes the F40 from 1991, one of the most famous Ferraris ever built. The car has covered only about 320 miles, a figure that alone significantly boosts its value among collectors.

But the ownership history adds another layer; it was bought new by Lee Iacocca, one of the most prominent executives in American automotive history. The F40 itself holds a special place within Ferrari's history, as the last supercar from the company to appear during Enzo Ferrari's lifetime. It became a symbol of the turbo era, lightweight construction, and raw performance before supercars began relying heavily on electronics. The auction estimates its value between $4 and $5 million.
