Chevrolet Dominates Egypt's Truck Market in First 4 Months of 2026
Chevrolet Captures Three-Quarters of Egypt's Truck Sales
According to the latest report from Egypt's Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), Chevrolet has claimed the largest market share in Egypt's truck segment during the first four months of 2026. The American brand recorded a dominant 74.8% share, selling 7,357 vehicles—far ahead of any competitor. This overwhelming lead underscores Chevrolet's strong distribution network, brand trust, and product lineup tailored to the needs of Egyptian commercial buyers, from light-duty pickups to medium-duty trucks.
Toyota, Nissan, and GMC Follow in a Tight Race
In second place, Toyota secured a 5.3% market share with 518 trucks sold, driven largely by the popularity of its Hilux model. Nissan took third place with a 4.6% share and 448 units, followed closely by GMC with 4.3% and 419 units. The close margins between these three brands highlight fierce competition in the mid-range truck segment, where pricing, reliability, and after-sales service are key decision factors for fleet operators and individual buyers alike.
Mitsubishi, Mercedes, and Volvo Round Out the Top Nine
Mitsubishi ranked fifth with a 3.8% share and 376 trucks sold, followed by Mercedes MCV at 2.4% with 235 units—a sign of steady demand for heavy-duty German trucks in Egypt. Suzuki claimed seventh place with 1.8% and 175 trucks, while Volvo took eighth with 0.7% and 71 units, and Shakman rounded out the list in ninth with 0.7% and 64 units. The data reveals a diverse market with options spanning light, medium, and heavy trucks, though Chevrolet's commanding lead leaves little room for rivals to close the gap in the near term.
