Between January and August 2026, Chery sold around 1.91 million vehicles globally, with roughly 7 out of every 10 going to markets outside China. In August alone, the group exported 196,984 cars, up over 52% year-on-year. This isn't seasonal growth.

Chery Leads Chinese Passenger Car Exports

According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and other models kept Chery in first place with a 21.7% share of total Chinese passenger car exports. The company exported over 1.32 million passenger cars, beating BYD in second with 1.13 million and Geely with 688,000. The margin is far from slim.

Europe Becomes a Primary Target

During the first seven months of 2026, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and other models sold over 208,000 vehicles across 24 European countries, marking a 201% increase year-on-year. More importantly, the surge didn't rely solely on gasoline cars.

New Energy Vehicles Drive European Growth

Chery sold over 101,000 new energy vehicles in Europe during the same period, up more than 330%. This figure reflects a shift in the company's strategy—no longer limited to combustion engines alone. Electric power is now part of the equation.
