MG Tops Chinese Car Sales in Egypt with Over 14,000 Registrations in 8 Months

MG leads the pack. The brand registered 14,222 vehicles in Egypt between January and August, topping the list of Chinese car brands by registrations, according to data from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool. The figure gives the MG brand a clear edge over its closest rivals.

Chery and Jetour Close Behind

The competition was tight. Chery claimed second place with 12,409 vehicles, while Jetour took third with around 10,614 cars during the same period. The gap between the top three shows just how fierce the battle for Chinese market share in Egypt has become.

Soueast and Changan Complete the Top Five

Fourth place went to Soueast with 7,488 vehicles, followed by Changan in fifth with 5,079 cars. These numbers confirm that Chinese brands are no longer a niche option — they are now major players in Egypt's automotive market.

Geely and Baic Among the Top Ten

Geely ranked sixth with 4,109 vehicles, while Baic registered around 3,480 cars to take seventh place. The variety of Chinese options available to Egyptian buyers across different price segments is expanding rapidly.

BYD, Haval and GAC Round Out the List

BYD held eighth place with 3,388 vehicles, followed by Haval in ninth with 2,568 cars, while GAC closed the top ten with 1,980 vehicles. The list reveals a clear dominance of Chinese brands across multiple segments of the market.

The data speaks volumes. Combined registrations for the top ten Chinese brands exceeded 54,000 vehicles in just eight months, signaling a dramatic shift in Egyptian consumer preferences toward Chinese cars thanks to competitive pricing and generous equipment levels. The market is moving fast.
