Egyptian Automobile Club Concludes Final Training Camp for DC3 Drift Championship

The Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club (ATCE) has concluded the third and final Boot Camp training camp, as part of preparations for the launch of the DC3 Standard Car Drift Championship. The championship is held under the supervision of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), following internationally approved technical and regulatory regulations, making it the first of its kind for standard cars under the FIA umbrella.

Wide Participation and Intensive Qualification

The final camp witnessed wide participation and great enthusiasm from competitors, who underwent a preparation period lasting more than two months. This period aimed to enhance their readiness for the championship, which serves as a qualifying stage toward the World Drift Championship finals. The final camp focused on training participants in various professional driving techniques and mechanisms for executing instructions within the full race track, along with applying the skills and experience gained from the previous two camps.

Statements from Championship Organizers

Wael Abdel Jalil, Deputy General Manager of the Automobile Club and Director of Sports Activity, confirmed that the three training camps significantly contributed to developing the level of participating drivers. He noted that the competitors showed remarkable progress in technical and leadership skills, commensurate with the championship's importance. Abdel Jalil added that the final date for the championship's launch will be announced in the coming days, explaining that the competitions will be held in a multi-round system, with points calculated for each competitor throughout the season, and the highest scorer qualifying for the world finals.

Shady Osama, founder of the Old School team and the main organizer of the championship, explained that the final training camp focused on training participants on various professional driving techniques, mechanisms for executing instructions within the full race track, and applying the skills and experience gained from the previous two camps to ensure their readiness for official competitions.

Hakam Rabie, founder of the Mavericks team, praised the technical level achieved by the participants, confirming that many of them now possess the necessary qualifications to compete for the championship title and represent Egypt honorably in international forums, after successfully absorbing correct driving methods and fully adhering to safety standards and professional performance.

Participation Requirements

It is worth noting that the championship's participation requirements include that cars must be standard rear-wheel drive (Stock) without substantial modifications, with the commitment to use the original engine and transmission from the same manufacturer. The rear tire width must not exceed 205 millimeters. The championship does not require expensive equipment, as drivers only need to wear a safety helmet and appropriate clothing, making it accessible to a larger number of drift enthusiasts.
