Deepal Leads REEV Sales in August.. G318 Tops the Segment

Deepal continues to strengthen its presence in Egypt's extended-range electric vehicle (REEV) market, recording 250 sales in August and taking the top spot in this segment for the month, according to the mandatory vehicle insurance pool report. 1,135 units is Deepal's total sales since the start of the year, reflecting consistent growth in a category facing rising competition from multiple brands now available in the Egyptian market.

G318 Leads REEV Sales

The Deepal G318 topped the REEV sales chart in August with 131 units, making it the best-selling model in the segment for the month. The G318 relies on an extended-range electric powertrain delivering up to 316 kW, with an announced driving range of approximately 963 km under the NEDC standard. Those numbers suggest Egyptian buyers are warming up to a technology that blends electric efficiency with the convenience of traditional engines.

Impressive One-Month Performance

The figure is staggering. 131 cars in a single month for just one model. That accounts for more than half of the brand's total August sales. This result positions the G318 ahead of several global and Chinese competitors all vying for a larger market share.

S05 Secures Third Place

The Deepal S05 recorded 95 sales during August, securing third place among REEV vehicles in the monthly ranking. The model is available in an extended-range electric REEV version alongside a fully electric BEV variant, giving the company a presence in multiple categories within the electric vehicle market. This dual strategy gives customers greater flexibility when choosing based on their daily needs and typical driving distances.

The sales growth coincided with GB Auto, the exclusive dealer for Deepal in Egypt, announcing new prices for its lineup: the S05 starts from EGP 1.599 million, while the G318 is priced around EGP 2.050 million. The company also added a new green color to the G318's available palette as part of updates to the current lineup, aiming to attract a wider customer base. On Egyptian roads, REEV vehicles appear to be asserting themselves as a practical choice that alleviates battery anxiety.

New Models and Growing Infrastructure

Deepal's current Egyptian portfolio includes the G318, S07, and S05 models, relying on both REEV and BEV technologies, with the company preparing to add more models in the coming period. This expansion plan aims to increase available options for customers while capitalizing on the growing interest in electric and extended-range vehicles in a market undergoing a gradual shift toward cleaner transportation solutions.

On the sales and after-sales front, GB Auto is preparing to open a new 3S facility for the Deepal brand on the Ring Road in New Cairo. The facility will combine sales, maintenance. Spare parts services under one roof, supporting the expansion of the brand's network and services across the Egyptian market. This investment in infrastructure reflects the local dealer's commitment to delivering a comprehensive ownership experience, a critical factor in the electric vehicle segment where specialized expertise and equipment are essential.
