Chery Dominates with 30% Market Share
Chery has topped the list of the best-selling locally assembled car brands in Egypt for April, capturing a 30% market share with 1,378 vehicles sold, according to the latest report from the Egyptian Automotive Information Council (AMIC). This strong performance underscores the Chinese brand's continued momentum in the Egyptian market, fueled by popular SUV models such as the Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 7 Pro, which appeal to buyers seeking a blend of advanced features and competitive pricing.
Nissan and Chevrolet Take Second and Third
Nissan secured second place with a 29% market share, totaling 1,371 units—just seven vehicles behind the leader, highlighting the fierce competition at the top of the market. Chevrolet followed in third place with an 18% share, selling 849 units, buoyed by its strong local production base and value-oriented models like the Aveo and Optra, which remain popular choices in the family car segment.
Hyundai, Changan, Citroën, and Toyota Round Out the List
Hyundai placed fourth with a 10% share, selling 469 vehicles, while Changan ranked fifth also at 10%, with 450 units sold. Citroën followed with a 2% share (97 units), and Toyota brought up the rear at 1%, with 34 vehicles. This distribution reflects the diverse options available to Egyptian consumers in the local assembly segment, with Chinese, Japanese, and American brands dominating the landscape, supported by industrial localization policies that encourage higher local content ratios.
