Nissan is preparing to enter a new phase of local production expansion in Egypt. The company's factory in 6th of October City is now ready to accommodate two additional models, bringing the total number of locally assembled vehicles to four alongside the Nissan Sunny and Nissan Magnite.

Fresh investments to boost production lines

The company has injected new investments over the past period to increase the plant's manufacturing capacity. The plan aims to meet the growing demand for locally made cars, both in the Egyptian market and through exports to African markets. Nissan sees local manufacturing as the foundation for its regional growth strategy.

The success of the Sunny is hard to ignore. The model currently leads new car sales in Egypt this year. The local launch of the Magnite signals a clear commitment to expanding production. The company wants to turn the factory into a regional hub for manufacturing and exports.

Gradual expansion to include commercial vehicles

The plans aren't limited to passenger cars only. Abd El-Samad revealed that the company is studying the addition of commercial vehicles to the 6th of October plant's production lines in the future, as part of a strategy to diversify locally assembled models. A final decision has not been made yet. Details will be announced once the executive plans are finalized.

These plans come just days after production of the Nissan Magnite officially began in Egypt. The car became the second passenger model to carry the "Made in Egypt" badge at the company's facilities after the Sunny. Export numbers over the past three years tell a compelling story.

The figures speak for themselves. Nissan has exported 25,000 cars assembled in Egypt to various African markets, raised its production to 30,000 passenger vehicles in the current fiscal year, and topped the local market rankings according to a previous statement from the Ministry of Industry.
