Nissan Africa President: Magnite Strategy Focuses on Ownership Experience and Strong Resale Value
The message is clear. Mohamed Abdel Samad, Managing Director of Nissan Africa, said the company's vision for introducing the Nissan Magnite to the Egyptian market goes far beyond launching a new vehicle, aiming instead to deliver a complete ownership experience that begins with the purchase and continues until the owner decides to sell the vehicle years later, reflecting a long-term strategy rather than a focus on initial sales alone. That is the objective.
Ownership Experience Beyond the Purchase
But what does that mean? Abdel Samad explained that the company doesn't view a vehicle as a product whose journey ends once it leaves the showroom, emphasizing, “I don't sell a car only, I sell a complete experience,” while adding that the success of any model should not be measured solely by launch sales, but by its ability to remain competitive and retain customer confidence throughout its life in the market. The approach is long term.
Resale Value Remains a Key Measure
Resale value matters. Abdel Samad stated that a vehicle's ability to retain a significant portion of its value after years of ownership is one of the strongest indicators of success in the market because customers look for models that provide greater confidence when it's time to sell, making resale value an important factor in the purchasing decision from the very beginning rather than only after years of use. That makes a difference.
Magnite's Long-Term Positioning
Across the Egyptian market, Abdel Samad said a strong model is one that maintains its presence through reliability, readily available spare parts, and consistent after-sales services, all of which ultimately influence demand in the used car market over time and reinforce customer confidence in the vehicle throughout its ownership cycle. The impact is significant.
The strategy is straightforward. Abdel Samad confirmed that Nissan is betting on building a sustainable market position for the Magnite instead of pursuing short-term popularity at launch, with the goal of establishing strong resale value and giving customers greater confidence in their purchase decision while supporting the model's long-term presence in the Egyptian automotive market. The commitment remains.
