Nissan Regional President: 32,000 Cars Sold Last Year with 15.6% Market Share in Egypt
Massimiliano Max Missina, President of Nissan for Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania, expressed pride in launching the first Nissan Magnite to be manufactured in Africa from within Egypt, emphasizing that the Egyptian market is a cornerstone of the company's regional strategy.
His remarks came during a tour by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly at the Nissan Egypt plant in 6th of October City. The tour was attended by several officials, including Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Engineer Khalid Hashem, Minister of Industry; Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Giza; Ambassador Fumio Iwai, Japan's Ambassador to Egypt; Jordi Vila, Regional Vice President of Nissan Europe and Africa; and Engineer Mohamed Abdel Samad, Managing Director of Nissan Africa.
Missina revealed that Nissan achieved a total market share of 15.6% in the past year, with sales approaching 32,000 cars. The company also celebrated producing 350,000 vehicles in Egypt over the last two decades, underscoring its long-term commitment to the local market.
He added that the Nissan plant in Egypt recorded its highest-ever production output, assembling over 28,000 cars. Missina confirmed that Nissan is the only global automaker in Egypt to fully own its factory at 100%, further solidifying its position in the country's automotive industry.
