First Nissan Magnite in Africa Rolls Off Egypt Assembly Line: PM Madbouly Says Localization Is a Priority
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the production ceremony of the first Nissan Magnite in Africa at the Nissan Egypt plant in 6th of October City, during his tour to inspect and open several industrial projects. He emphasized that the event reflects the Egyptian state's vision to deepen and localize domestic manufacturing, especially in the automotive industry.
High-Level Attendance
The tour was attended by Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, Giza Governor Ahmed Al-Ansari, Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Fumio Iwai, Jordi Vila — Regional Vice President of Nissan Europe and Africa, Managing Director of Nissan Africa Mohamed Abdel Samad, along with company officials, component suppliers, and authorized dealers.
Government Support for Industrial Expansion
The Prime Minister affirmed that the government continues to provide all forms of support to global companies seeking expansion in the Egyptian market, contributing to the transfer of modern technology, maximizing the local component ratio, and opening new export markets. Madbouly added that the state aims to build a strong and integrated industrial base capable of meeting domestic market needs and enhancing Egypt's position as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing and exports to African and regional markets.
Production Line Inspection
Madbouly inspected the new production lines dedicated to the Nissan Magnite model and listened to an explanation of the plant's manufacturing and technological capabilities. He also witnessed the official announcement of the first locally assembled vehicle of this new model rolling off the line in Egypt.
