National Press Authority Launches Book 'Man of Destiny' Marking June 30 Revolution Anniversary

The National Press Authority, chaired by Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shourbagi, launched its latest publication on the occasion of the June 30 Revolution anniversary, a book titled "Man of Destiny: A Leader's Biography, A Nation's Journey." The launch ceremony took place during an expanded celebration attended by several ministers, senior officials, heads of media bodies and national press institutions, along with an elite group of writers, intellectuals, and public figures. This publication comes as part of the Authority's efforts to document major national milestones in modern Egyptian history.

Documenting a Leader's Journey from Al-Gamaleya to the Ittihadiya Palace

The book documents the journey of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from the Al-Gamaleya district to the Ittihadiya Palace, relying on verified testimonies from a select group of national figures. The book aims to provide an integrated national narrative of a pivotal phase in modern Egyptian history, which witnessed major challenges at political, security, and developmental levels. He added that the idea for the book originated within the Authority, and was worked on by an elite group of prominent thinkers, writers, and journalists, drawing on testimonies from national figures who bore responsibility during one of the most delicate phases the Egyptian state has experienced. He explained that the book does not stop at being a work about a leader's biography, but extends to documenting an entire phase of modern Egyptian history.

The Chairman of the National Press Authority pointed out that documenting major national experiences is not an intellectual luxury, but rather a historical responsibility that falls on the shoulders of thinkers, researchers, and cultural and media institutions. El-Shourbagi said: "Nations that do not write their history leave others to write it for them, and perhaps they write it without the truth." He affirmed that this book represents a serious attempt to provide an integrated national narrative that contributes to preserving national memory for future generations.

El-Shourbagi revealed that preparing the book took a full year of research, investigation, and gathering information from reliable sources, resulting in a comprehensive documentary work befitting this great national occasion.
