BMW X7 (2019-2022) Review
Previous Generation - M50i Trim (2019 - 2022)
The BMW X7 is the largest passenger car the German manufacturer has built and its first seven-seat model. It launched in Egypt in 2019 in a single M50i trim through its then-distributor Bavarian Auto Group and was locally assembled. It combines a powerful twin-turbo engine, an exceptionally spacious luxury cabin, and comprehensive safety and driver-assistance features, but suffers from weak resale value and limited spare parts availability.
Chery Arrizo 5 (2020-2022) Review
Locally Assembled Version (2020 - 2022)
The Chery Arrizo 5 is a compact sedan that debuted in Egypt in August 2018 as a China-imported model, then returned in July 2019 as a locally assembled version at lower prices through its distributor GB Auto. It combines a stable, comfortable suspension, relatively good safety equipment for its class, and strong resale value as an alternative to the Hyundai Verna.
Chevrolet Optra (2005-2014) Review
First Generation (2005 - 2014)
The Chevrolet Optra is an economical family sedan imported to Egypt from South Korea between 2005 and 2014, selling around 50,000 units locally. It is known for wide spare parts availability and strong resale value, but lacks almost all modern safety features.
Renault Megane Grand Coupe (2017-2020) Review
Grand Coupe (2017 - 2020)
The Renault Megane Grand Coupe launched in Egypt in late 2016 as a 2017 model to replace the Renault Fluence, offering elegant coupe styling, a spacious cabin, and advanced tech features, but it never matched Fluence's success in the local market due to weak resale value and costly spare parts.
Nissan Sunny (2011-2017) Review
Current Generation (2011 - 2017)
The Nissan Sunny is a simple, quiet family car that launched in this generation in 2011 and remains available in the Egyptian market. It stands out for easy resale and wide spare parts availability, but faces criticism over high-speed stability and fuel consumption.
Hyundai Verna (2003 - 2020) Review
Verna (2003 - 2020)
The Hyundai Verna was one of the most popular cars in the Egyptian market, essentially a locally-badged version of the second-generation Hyundai Accent, given a separate name to distinguish it from the New Accent. It stood out for its affordable pricing, easy maintenance, and widely available spare parts, but was held back by suspension stability issues and limited safety features.
Kia Grand Cerato (2019-2021) Review
4th Generation (2019 - 2021)
Kia launched the Grand Cerato in Egypt as a 2019 model with a completely redesigned exterior and larger dimensions than its predecessor, competing in the family sedan segment against the Elantra, Corolla, and Sentra. The car pairs a spacious cabin and solid equipment list with a carryover engine and a noticeable shortage of modern safety features.
Mercedes-Benz C180 Avantgarde (2022-2027) Review
W206 Generation (2022 - 2027)
The C180 Avantgarde serves as the entry point into the new W206 C-Class lineup, delivering much of the luxury feel of higher trims like the C200 AMG Line at a lower price with modest performance trade-offs. It combines a premium-feeling interior with a comfort-oriented driving character, making it a sensible entry into Mercedes-Benz ownership.
Toyota Corolla (2014-2019) Review
11th Generation (2014 - 2019)
The 11th-generation Corolla is a dependable family sedan with an economical 1.6L engine, a roomy cabin, and widely available spare parts. It is known in the Egyptian market for reliability and strong resale value.
